This small dish is thrown on the wheel from a stoneware clay. I make a deep base with a rounded foot and bring the walls out to make a small dish. I then add a lip for pouring.
The following day when the clay is leather hard, I trim the bottom and carve the base of the dish to make it rough.
It then must dry out completely before going into the kiln for a bisque firing.
I have chosen glazes that have a lovely depth of colour and movement. The dish is dipped in glaze and fired again at 1210 degrees C.
The finished pieces are durable, microwave and dishwasher proof and food safe.
