I throw the body of the squeezers in one piece on the wheel. When the clay has gone leather hard, I trim the bottom and carve the grooves into the bulb. Finally, I add a handle and leave to dry out completely ready for the first firing.
Once fired I then dip in a stoneware glaze, I have chosen them for their depth of colour and movement in the glaze.
They then go back into the kiln for the final firing where it reaches a temperature of 1210 degrees C.
The final piece is durable, microwave and dishwasher proof and food safe.
